89 ACTUALIDAD De Grace de Mónaco a Rosalía En sus inicios, el boca a boca tuvo mucho que ver en el crecimiento y consolidación de la firma. En el año 1966 el ayuntamiento de Sevilla invitó a Grace de Mónaco a la Feria y fue el propio ayuntamiento quien les encargó el traje para la princesa. “Contaba que la llamaron del Ayuntamiento en plena feria, estando hasta arriba de trabajo. Fueron a tomarle las medidas cuando salía de los toros y, al día siguiente, a las 12 del mediodía ya estaba la princesa vestida”, nos comenta Mila. “Un traje blanco con tiras perforadas en rosa, que dio la vuelta al mundo, y que sigue siendo hoy un icono de nuestra firma. Para mi madre fue un sueño poder hacerlo” añade Rocío. Más tarde vistió también a la Reina Sofía cuando, siendo todavía princesa, visitó la Feria de Abril. En esa época crecen los encargos de todo tipo para cine, para espectáculos flamencos, teatro o canción. Lina viste a las artistas más importantes como Lola Flores, Rocío Jurado, Isabel Pantoja, Marisol o Carmen Sevilla, entre otras muchas, y también a la aristocracia. En el año 2022 la firma fue la encargada de realizar la bata de cola de 12 metros que lució Rosalía durante su gira mundial “Motomami”. “Fue todo un reto hacer una bata de cola de doce metros de largo que se viera proporcionada en el escenario, pero fue una experiencia maravillosa. Nos encantó el trato con ella y todo su equipo, que a pesar de ser jóvenes son muy profesionales” señala Rocío. Por el taller han pasado, y lo siguen haciendo, figuras como Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galiano, Giambattista Valli, entre otras. El año pasado, cuando se celebró el desfile de Dior en Sevilla, recibieron la visita de Stephen Jones, el sombrerero de la famosa firma francesa. Y es que toda persona ilustre en el mundo de la moda que visita Sevilla quiere conocer el taller de Lina. From Grace of Monaco to Rosalía At first, word of mouth was the main reason the company grew and established itself. In 1966, Seville Town Hall invited Grace of Monaco to the city's April Fair and commissioned a dress for the princess. “The story goes that the Town Hall called her in the middle of the fair week, when the company was overrun with work. They went to take her measurements when she was leaving a bullfight, and at midday on the following day the princess had her dress,” says Mila. “A white dress with perforated pink ruffles that was seen all around the world, and which is still an icon of our brand. It was a dream come true for my mother”, adds Rocío. After that, she also made a dress for queen Sofía, then a princess, when she visited the April Fair. During that period, orders of all kinds increased, for the cinema, flamenco shows, theatre or singers. Lina has dressed the most important artists, such as Lola Flores, Rocío Jurado, Isabel Pantoja, Marisol and Carmen Sevilla, not to mention members of the aristocracy. In 2022, the company was chosen to make the dress with a 12-metre long train that Rosalía wore during her Motomami world tour. “It was a real challenge to make a 12-metre long train that looked in proportion on stage, but it was a wonderful experience. We loved dealing with her and all her team, who are really professional despite being so young”, points out Rocío. The workshop has welcomed such names as Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galiano, Giambattista Valli, to name but a few. Last year, when Seville hosted the Dior show, they had a visit from Stephen Jones, the milliner of the renowned French brand.
