Curii is a Mediterranean red wine from the terraced slopes of the Marina Alta mountains, where the land still holds the memory of the farmers who once worked these hillsides before the muscat trade displaced local viticulture. In this landscape, Violeta Gutiérrez de la Vega and Alberto Redrado embarked, in 2010, on an almost artisanal mission: to rescue forgotten plots, restore their voice, and make wine the way it used to be made, without haste or artifices. Maruja is a manzanilla from another era, one to be sipped slowly and respectfully, allowing it to express itself and reveal its true character. The albariza, tamed over twenty patient years in Juan Piñero’s bodega, makes its unhurried way through the criaderas until it raises the spirit of Sanlúcar like no other. Only two small saca releases are drawn each year, like treasures carefully gathered, guarded in silence by time itself.
