Desde ese momento han sido varios los viajes que he realizado a ese país, en uno de los cuales, acompañado de otros 4 expedicionarios, conseguíamos ser los primeros en alcanzar el mismo nacimiento del río Níger sobre una bicicleta de montaña. Un lugar de bosque tropical situado en el mismo límite entre Guinea Conakry y Sierra Leona. Después de ese periplo, ahora el objetivo se centraba en ser la primera expedición 4x4 que llega hasta las proximidades de las fuentes del Níger tras superar las embarradas pistas de jungla de montaña. It was back in 1987 when I managed to become the first foreigner to drive my 4x4 into Guinea Conakry after Sekou Touré had kept the country closed for 20 years. Since then I have been on several trips to that country, on one of which, accompanied by four other expedition members, we became the first to reach the source of the river Niger by mountain bike. The place is a rainforest located on the border of Guinea Conakry and Sierra Leone. After that journey, the next aim focused on being the first 4x4 expedition to get close to the sources of the Niger after traversing the muddy tracks of the mountainous jungle.
