Cuando quedo con Juan Perea en Pirámide, en pleno centro de Algeciras, la idea era sentarnos a hablar sobre su nueva firma y su larga trayectoria. Pero lo que ocurre es algo diferente y, a la vez, auténtico: clientas que entran y salen, que se prueban, preguntan, ríen y buscan consejo. Juan va y viene, ajusta un bajo aquí, coloca una chaqueta allá, responde a un “Juan, ¿este color para la boda de mi padre?”, sin perder el hilo de la conversación. Entra el fotógrafo y, sin más preparación, se organiza un shooting improvisado. No hay maquillajes de pasarela ni estilismos planificados, pero Juan tiene la habilidad de lograr que todas nos pongamos frente a la cámara y, lo más importante, que nos sintamos cómodas haciéndolo. “Ponte aquí, este color te favorece; tú, ajusta un poco la manga…”. Y en pocos minutos, la escena se convierte en un desfile improvisado de mujeres reales, con estilo propio. When I meet Juan Perea in Pirámide in the heart of Algeciras, the idea was to sit and talk about his new brand and his long career. But what actually happens is somewhat different, but also authentic: clients coming and going, trying things on, asking, laughing and asking for advice. Juan comes and goes, adjusts a hemhere, fits a jacket there, replies to a “Juan, this colour for my father’s wedding?” ...all without losing the thread of the conversation. The photographer comes in and, with no further ado, a photo shoot is improvised. This is no catwalk make-up or planned styling, but Juan has the skill of getting all of us in front of the camera and, more importantly, making us all feel comfortable doing so. “Stand here, this colour suits you; you, adjust the sleeve a bit...”.
