Nada de ferias ni piezas prefabricadas, aquí todo parte de cero. “Hago el alambre, lo mando al fundidor para un primer molde, luego se trabaja en cera, se retoca, se funde en latón… Puedo necesitar cuatro fundiciones para un pendiente”, detalla. El proceso, que incluye soldaduras, pulidos y baños de oro de 18 quilates en Barcelona, involucra a artesanos como fundidores, engastadores y lapidarios. El resultado son mini esculturas que combinan latón bañado en oro con distintas piedras naturales. JOYAS PARA COMPARTIR INSPIRADA POR MUJERES Sonia nos cuenta con esa energía que la caracteriza la esencia de su marca: crear piezas exclusivas y “aportar su granito de arena y honrar los valores que le transmitió su madre y a todas aquellas mujeres que la inspiran”. La colección Amparo dedicada a su abuela, Paloma a su madre o la colección Olivia a su sobrina. “En la colección Paloma el metal representa a la madre y las piedras que cuelgan son los hijos, unidos por un cordón umbilical que, emocionalmente, nunca se rompe”, nos cuenta. Estas joyas trascienden generaciones, están pensadas para pasar de madres a hijas, de abuelas a nietas, llevando un lema heredado de su madre: “Nadie deberá alejarse de ti sin sentirse mejor”. “Cuando llevo uno de mis pendientes, me recuerda que puedo hacer el día de alguien un poco más luminoso”, dice. También ha incorporado en sus colecciones cruces, medallas y hasta gemelos, cada pieza con ese sello personal que convierte sus creaciones en algo más: joyas con alma que tejen historias. Forget trade fairs and prefabricated pieces, here everything is created from scratch. “I make the wire, send it for the first casting, then we work with wax, it is tweaked, it is cast in brass...I might need four castings four one earring”, she explains. The process, which includes soldering, polishing and plating in 18-carat gold in Barcelona, involves artisans as well as smelters, stone setters and gem cutters. The end products are mini sculptures that blend gold-plated brass with different natural stones. JEWELLERY FOR SHARING INSPIRED BY WOMEN Sonia tells us the essence of her brand with her characteristic energy: creating unique pieces and “doing my bit and honouring the values passed down by her mother and all the women that inspire me”. The Amparo collection is a tribute to her grandmother, Paloma to her mother and the Oliva collection to her niece. “In the Paloma collection, the metal represents the mother and the hanging stones are the children, joined by an umbilical cord that, in terms of emotions, is never broken”, she says. This jewellery transcends generations; it is meant to be passed down frommothers to daughters, from grandmothers to granddaughters, conveying a philosophy inherited from her mother: “No one should leave me without feeling better”. “When I wear my earrings, it reminds me that I can brighten up someone’s day”, she says.
