La reforma, dirigida por el arquitecto Pelayo García Costales y AndrésVargas, respetó la estructuraoriginal de la casadiseñada por Javier Planas y PepeTorres. El resultado es una distribución claramente dividida en dos volúmenes: uno abierto y luminoso para las áreas comunes, donde las paredes se funden con el exterior, y otro más íntimo para el área privada. Desde el interior hasta el exterior, el diseño fluye sin fisuras, incorporando elementos sorprendentes como un muro exento junto a la piscina, que agrega dinamismo al paisaje. El salón de verano, con su diseño suave y vistas panorámicas, ofrece un espacio de reunión donde el mar se entrelaza con la vegetación exuberante, creando un ambiente de calma y confort. La decoración, en tonalidades azules, se equilibra con detalles en verde vibrante y materiales como el cristal, en clara referencia al paisaje mediterráneo. Las tonalidades crudas que visten los sillones y sofás, complementados con cojines de telas africanas, crean un contraste de colores que aporta dinamismo y vitalidad al espacio. En esta casa, donde cada detalle es una expresión artística, el azul de Ibiza se convierte en el lienzo sobre el cual se dibuja una vida armoniosa en sintonía con el entorno mediterráneo que la rodea. On the island of Ibiza, where the blue of the Mediterranean embraces every nook and cranny, stands a home that is so much more than a retreat; it is a sanctuary that opens out to the sea and open-air living, bringing together contemporary design and rationalist architecture in perfect equilibrium with the White Island. Carefully elaborated by the Melián Randolph Interior Design Studio at the request of a passionate American owner, the renovation, directed by the architects Pelayo García Costales and Andrés Vargas, honoured the original structure of the home designed by Javier Planas and Pepe Torres. The result is a layout with two clearly separate volumes: an open and bright one for the common areas, where the walls blend in with the outside, and another more intimate private area. The design flows seamlessly from the interior to the exterior, incorporating eye-catching features such as a free-standing wall next to the swimming pool that adds dynamism to the landscape. The summer room, with its subdued design and panoramic views, offers a space for get-togethers where the sea is intertwined with the lush vegetation, creating a calm, comfortable ambience. The décor, featuring shades of blue offset by details in bright green and materials like glass, is a clear allusion to the Mediterranean landscape. The ecru shades of the armchairs and sofas, complemented by cushions in African prints, create a contrast of colours to make it a space brimming with vitality. In this home, where every detail exudes artistic expression, the blue of Ibiza becomes the canvas depicting life in perfect harmony with the Mediterranean surroundings.
