Después de vivir y trabajar en El Cairo, Nueva York, Manila o de comisariar un proyecto sobre Fernando Zóbel en la Bienal de Venecia, ahora prepara la siguiente temporada en Los Aficionados, un nuevo concepto que ha creado para ver las obras de arte de una forma más íntima. Guillermo ha convertido su casa y su estudio en un espacio para presentaciones temporales de artistas. ¿Cómo surge el proyecto de «Los Aficionados»? De una forma orgánica. Propiciar conversaciones e intercambios entre personas y trabajos que despiertan mi curiosidad algo intrínseco a mi carácter. Al final, todo son diferentes lenguajes y lo importante es entender cuál de ellos encaja mejor con la idea que quieres expresar. Guillermo Paneque’s career as an artist is hard to pigeon-hole. Pictures, sculptures, curating, installations and book publishing: his work has always moved on to the point where disciplines intersect and art ceases to occupy a single place. After living and working in Cairo, New York and Manila, and curating a project on Fernando Zóbel for the Venice Biennale, he is now preparing the upcoming season of Los Aficionados, a new concept he has created for taking a more intimate look at works of art. Guillermo has turned his house and studio into a space for artists’ temporary exhibitions. How did the “Los Aficionados” project come about? Organically. Fostering conversations and exchanges between people and works that spark my curiosity is part of my nature. At the end of the day, they are all different languages and what really matters is knowing which is the best fit for the idea you want to convey.
